When life gives you lemons… Get your beauty on girrrrl!!

No, really, forget grabbing Tequila, Gin or whatever it is that’s supposed to make lemons better. Lemons are awesome, awesome weapons in your beauty arsenal.

The first thing they can be used for is what I call the ‘Lemon Facial’. Basically this is real simple, grab a lemon, slice it in half then just rub the lemon all over your face. This helps with blackheads, oily skin ( I have really oily skin) and pimples. You can switch things up by mixing the lemon juice and mixing it with honey or something similar to make a mask too.

My favourite and (newest obsession) is lemon water. I slice up a few lemons, pop them in my water bottle, pour in some water and I am good to go. Lemon water tastes amazing! You can even drink it warm as a sort of like tea kinda thing. The benefits of this are endless: The Vitamin C helps with clear skin, Freshens you breath, helps with weight loss (Lemons are high in pectin fibre which helps fight hunger cravings). Bottom line is lemon water is yummy and healthy!

Lemon juice can also be mixed with coconut or olive oil and used as a hair conditioning mask. This is really great for a dry scalp and helps with dandruff problems.

Combing lemon juice through your hair every once in a while also gives it a nice healthy shine and keeps your hair colour looking bright and vibrant.

Clean and Whiten those nails hunnay! (LOL!!) Lemons are really awesome for your nails too. Next time you do a DIY manicure, Add the juice of half a lemon to a cup of warm water and soak your nails in the mixture for 5-7 minutes. You can also rub the lemon peel across the nail afterwards.

So there you have it y’all, a quick lesson on life, lemons and beauty!
